The G-1 division of the MEF Headquarters in which I work took advantage of a planned base power outage this last Friday, and went en masse on Kadena ITT's Okinawa Battle Sites Tour all day. We visited four different sites of importance to the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Our tour guide was a battle survivor as a young girl, and she brought some important perspectives to the tour. Cool weather with some spotted rain made walking easy enough, and it looked like everyone learned something! Here are some pictures of the day.
